Update...

Just a little update for everyone now that the initial July 1st deadline has passed...

First: If you know of anyone who is still interested in attending - although the deadline has passed for Reservations, Tan-tar-a has agreed to hold our reservations open until JULY 15th - BUT, anyone who calls after tonight will not be guaranteed to have a room in the same building as the rest of us. The prices for the other rooms vary - so I'm not sure how much they would be.

I have had a few calls from people who saw our listing in Adoptive Families Magazine (although I requested they run it FOREVER AGO, I was happy to see that it was in the magazine this month!) so I quickly called Tan-tar-a to ask for the extension. JULY 15th is the ABSOLUTE LAST DAY to reserve a room with our group.

I CANNOT add anymore t-shirts to our order as of this past Monday.

Second: I KNOW I said I wouldn't do it, but I took T-shirt orders from a few of you last minute and I don't have money from everyone yet. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE mail me a check TODAY if you haven't paid me already. (Email me if you don't have my email address)

FOR THOSE OF YOU STAYING OFF-SITE: I know that there are a few of you who have made reservations off-site at other locations. I was told that if you do not have a reservation for a room or cabin at Tan-tar-a you will NOT be allowed to enter the pool area. They do not issue day passes and they do keep track of who goes in or out... so I wanted to warn you. You will be able to attend our Meet-n-Greets and the Saturday night dinner, as well as Breakfast Friday & Saturday though!

One last thing....... if you are from a state other than Missouri and know of an EXISTING organized group of families with kids from Guatemala, will you please email me and give me the name - and contact info if you have it? If you know FOR SURE that your state doesn't have one, please email me as well. THANKS!!

T-SHIRT INFO

I called today and the t-shirt company will make us a deal IF we place our order by THURSDAY, JUNE 25. The shirts will be a pale yellow color. They are going to look really good! I am so excited!!! (I didn't get a NEON yellow - no worries!!)

ADULT & YOUTH & TODDLER sizes are $6.75 each (they aren't upcharging for the smaller sizes - YAY!)

2XL, 3XL, & 4XL are $8.30
(Those prices include tax)

I posted the list I have of families who said they wanted t-shirts, including the sizes you have ordered, on the MOGUATE Yahoo Site. If there is a * next to your name - you are on the Reservations list that Tan-tar-a has sent me, but you have NOT ordered any shirts. Email me IMMEDIATELY if you want any shirts.

Also - I would like to ask each of you to mail me a check for your shirts by THURSDAY. I have to pay for them upfront and I want to make sure that I am not stuck paying for shirts that I won't wear. :)

Sorry, but because of the number of shirts that we are ordering, if I do not have your check by THURSDAY, I cannot order shirts for you. I will email each family as I receive your checks, so please include your EMAIL ADDRESS in a note with your check and the sizes you are ordering (to also provide me a way to make sure I am ordering the correct sizes for you.)

I am leaving to go out of town Thursday evening, so it will make it difficult for me if you do not mail your check on time. I am guessing if you can get your check in the mail by Monday - I should receive it in time.

If you already know that you can't get a check to me by then, please let me know so we can make arrangements for payment.

I also have a Paypal account (no credit cards) if you would prefer that method of payment.

RESERVATIONS

I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH:

If you are planning to attend MOGUATE, you need to make your reservations TODAY.

There are many of you who have expressed interest, but your names are not on the list that Tan-tar-a gave me on June 16th. We have 32 families who have already made their reservations, which means there are ONLY 18 rooms left for us in our block. After July 1st - they will release those rooms for sale to the general public and the rates could go up.

***IF YOU HAVE NOT CALLED TAN-TAR-A TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATION BY JULY 1ST, THE PRICING AND AVAILABILITY CANNOT BE GUARANTEED***

I just checked online today, and their website shows NO AVAILABILITY on the resort for that weekend, so basically if you don't book with our group, you might not be able to get a room on the resort. Call: 1-800-tan-tar-a and mention Missouri-Guatemala Families.

Some of you know people who have been talking about possibly coming - can you please encourage them to book asap?

Sorry to keep bugging you, but I hate to think of someone not being able to come just because they waited too long. :(

T-SHIRTS LAST CALL!!!!!!

If you are interested in getting a 2009 MOGUATE T-shirt this is your LAST CALL! :)

I am planning to call the t-shirt place FRIDAY to get the estimate of cost per shirt, so I need to know how many we will be ordering by FRIDAY. Even if you AREN'T going, you can still order a t-shirt! I can mail it to you if you pay for shipping.

DEADLINES ARE COMING UP!

RESERVATIONS: Tan-tar-a will release all the rooms not already reserved by us on JULY 1st! If you THINK you want to go - go ahead and make a reservation. You can cancel all the way up until 72 hours before arrival with no penalty. 1-800-tan-tara and tell them you are with the "Missouri Guatemala Parents Group"

T-SHIRTS: Don't forget to tell me your family's t-shirt sizes by JUNE 15th! I need to know how many we will be ordering before I place our order with the printer so we can get the BEST deal! I will let you know when you will need to pay for them once I have a price per shirt.

The actual color of the t-shirts has not been determined - I will be checking with the t-shirt company to figure out which color will look best. We may either choose the blue or green in this logo for the shirt and then change that color to white.... that's a possibility. I will trust their expertise! I know that many of you have said NO WHITE - and I agree! My kids are too rough on white t-shirts! ha!

OK - now for ordering...

I cannot give you an exact cost of the shirts until we have all of the orders and figure the quantity discount. I do know that certain sizes (infants & toddlers and the XXL+ cost more per shirt, based on another estimate I am currently working on for Guatoberfest). I believe that the base price (meaning a shirt with no upcharge for the sizing) will be no more than $10 per shirt - and possibly closer to $7-8 each.

ALL SHIRTS MUST BE PAID FOR AT THE TIME WE SUBMIT THE ORDER TO THE T-SHIRT COMPANY (mid-June/early July). Sorry, no exceptions. If you can't go to MOGUATE, we can mail your shirts to you.

ALSO - if you aren't attending MOGUATE, but want t-shirts - we can mail those to you. :)
